“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, then I can achieve it!”
On September 5, 1960, an 18-year-old Cassius Clay took home a gold medal for America in Rome. That feat alone would’ve solidified his place in history. Yet the “Louisville Lip” was just getting started. Just 54 days later he made his pro debut in Kentucky against Tunney Hunsaker. From that moment on, the world began to change. The gold medal winner became the heavyweight champion of the world less than four years later. Clay became Muhammad Ali. A great boxer became “The Greatest” there ever was.
To celebrate the anniversary of Cassius Clay’s first pro fight, we’re throwing back to the roots with this new slick stadium jacket — to that gold medal mission in Rome, when he began making a name for himself!
