AC/DC X AND ROOTS OF FIGHT
“We rock at dawn on the front line/like a bolt right out of the blue. The sky’s alight with a guitar bite/heads will roll and rock tonight.”
Whenever the riff hits the speakers, the crowd comes to life. The amps quake. Stadiums erupt. The rumble can be felt under your feet. Hands reach for the sky, bodies move, and people worldwide lock in, lick for high-voltage lick.
From the first time AC/DC took the stage in 1973 in Sydney, there was a movement. A chord had been struck by a bolt of lightning. It resonated all over the world. It rocked the face of civilization and gave it momentum. It reached into bedrooms and electrified the youth. It became the soundtrack to sporting events worldwide and shook live venues to the studs.
AC/DC — this is what the power of rock & roll is all about. A thundering shot of adrenaline that runs through every living thing. AC/DC took the blues and fed it into its Marshall stacks for the purpose of blowing the lid off the joint. The titles alone bring the hair up on your arms. “Back in Black.” “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).” “Who Made Who.” “Hell’s Bells” “Thunderstruck.”
For 50 years, the live show is unparalleled. Zero in on February of 1981, when AC/DC hit the stage in Japan as part of the “Back in Black” tour. That’s when the world understood the sheer immensity of AC/DC’s sound, as the Osaka Expo Hall melted in a surge of energy and raw riffage. This wasn’t just a concert. These songs struck directly at our rebellious core and became the anthems to the greatest movement to ever galvanize the airwaves — that of Rock & Roll!
