Just a couple of months before he opened a Gung Fu school in Oakland, Bruce Lee demonstrated the principles of his highly evolved philosophical system at the Sun Sing Theatre in the heart of Chinatown. Viewed as a threat by others in San Francisco’s kung fu community, it caused quite a stir, eventually leading to a showdown with the young kung fu phenom, Wong Jack Man, toward the end of 1964.
