Flashback to 1977, when the “Tyler Rose” led the Longhorns to an undefeated season and a Cotton Bowl bid with 1,744 rushing yards and a nation-leading 19 touchdowns. In the long history of Texas football, there had never been a Heisman Trophy winner. That is, until 1977, when Earl put his shoulders down and broke through.
