Robinson was a four-sport star with the Bruins from 1939-1941. He broke records in track & field with the long jump. He broke records that stand to this day in football, averaging 12.2 yards per carry in 1939. He led his conference in scoring on the basketball team.
Yet it was baseball that called to him. And it was through baseball that he changed the course of history. With UCLA Robinson went 4-for-4 in his debut, stealing home twice, and perhaps the heart of Westwood forever.
