OAK A's Three-Peat Dynasty Black Shorts
They were called the “Swingin’ A’s,” a rare blend of fun-loving characters who came together in Oakland in the early 1970s to form a dynasty. Those early A’s teams became the bedrock for a franchise that has given the American pastime some of its most colorful memories over the years.
TWith Reggie Jackson, Jim “Catfish” Hunter, Rollie Fingers, and Dick Williams all sporting mustaches, the team was affectionately known as the “Mustache Gang” in 1972, the year the A’s won their first World Series, taking a hard-fought series with the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3. By 1974, the A’s capped a historic run as the first back-to-back-to-back champions by taking out the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games, in what is known as the All California Fall Classic.
The sun forever shines on Oakland and the great players that made it one of the proudest clubs in baseball!
