About — Campus Legends
ROF x UCLA x JACKIE ROBINSON
Roots of Fight was honored to partner with UCLA to launch a collection celebrating one of the school’s most legendary athlete—Jackie Robinson
Archival Images
To further bring the collection to life, we collaborated with UCLA to secure archival images of Jackie Robinson from their time at the university.
These powerful visuals reinforced the deep connection between the icon and the school, enhancing storytelling across digital platforms, retail displays, and event materials. By incorporating these images into our content strategy, we created an authentic and nostalgic connection that resonated deeply with both fans and the university community.

VIDEO CONTENT
We scripted, produced, and edited three custom videos featuring Carmelo Anthony and CC Sabathia speaking about Jackie Robinson sporting the collection. These videos were shared as Instagram collaboration posts between the icons, Carmelo Anthony, CC Sabathia, our retail partners, and Roots of Fight, amplifying reach and engagement across their combined audiences.

Retail Activations
To bring this collection to life in a tangible way, we designed and executed immersive retail displays at UCLA's campus store, as well as provided branded materials promoting the collection for multiple marketing platforms.
Some highlights of the retail display include
Immersive storytelling – The UCLA Student Store display recreated a college dorm room setup, complete with a locker and a fabric ceiling banner featuring iconic imagery of Jackie Robinson.
Detail-oriented merchandising – Our team personally styled every mannequin and product on display, thoughtfully adjusting details like rolled sleeves and tied drawstrings to create an aspirational, lifestyle-driven look.
Full-scale execution – The retail activation included large-scale flag displays, as well as smaller displays at the front of the stores that drew traffic toward the main floor displays.
In just two days, our team transformed these spaces into highly engaging, on-brand retail experiences that celebrated the legacy of Jackie Robinson.

Live podcast event with All The Smoke
Alongside the retail launch, we partnered with UCLA and the All the Smoke podcast to bring the story behind the collection to life through a meaningful and culturally impactful event. On launch day, we helped facilitate a panel discussion honoring Jackie Robinson’s enduring legacy—one that extends far beyond sport and continues to shape culture today.
Hosted by UCLA alumni and All the Smoke podcast hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, the conversation featured influential voices including Sonya Pankey, granddaughter of Jackie Robinson and Director of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, and Kyle Bowser, Senior Vice President of the NAACP Hollywood Bureau. Together, they reflected on Robinson’s groundbreaking journey, his time at UCLA as a four-sport athlete, and the lasting impact of his contributions across sports, civil rights, and society.
The event brought together UCLA student-athletes, alumni, and community members in an intimate setting at Kerckhoff Hall, creating a space for connection, reflection, and inspiration. Following the discussion, guests were invited to experience the unveiling of the first licensed UCLA x Jackie Robinson collection—bridging heritage storytelling with product in a way that felt both authentic and impactful.
We were proud to support the execution of this activation from concept through delivery—helping shape the event experience, coordinate key stakeholders, and ensure the collection launch was supported by meaningful storytelling and cultural relevance. The conversation continues beyond the event, with the panel now featured on the All the Smoke podcast, extending the reach of Robinson’s legacy to a broader audience.
