In 1958, a 17-year-old Brazilian phenom took the world by storm. His name was Pelé — a soccer wunderkind who made good on a promise he made to his father years early that he’d help Brasil win a World Cup. In Sweden that year, at the Rasunda Stadium against the host country, Pelé scored two goals to help Brasil to victory. A hero had emerged, and a legend was born.
