Honoring the legendary second baseman Jackie Robinson of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson was not only the first African-American ballplayer to break the MLB color line in 1947, but he stood as a symbol of equality at a time when racial tensions in baseball were at an extreme. Robinson would quickly make people color blind, though, going on to become the Rookie of the Year (1947), the National League batting champion (1949) and a six-time All Star. His No. 42 was retired by Major League Baseball in 1997.
