When Bruce first started teaching martial arts, he developed Jun Fan Gung Fu (translates Bruce Lee's Gung Fu), it was basically his take on Wing Chun. However, as Bruce continued to explore and learn more about combat he discovered that his concepts lacked real world effectiveness. This led him to develop an entirely new approach. He called this Jeet Kune Do, aka The Way Of the Intercepting Fist. It was an all encompassing fighting style which prepared practitioners for all outcomes - “Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves." Or in other words, "Be water my friend."
