Sugar Ray Robinson owned Harlem in the 1940s and ’50s, his pink Cadillac patrolling the streets and stopping at his bar, Sugar Ray’s, or at one of his other businesses in the neighborhood. The two-division champion ruled the boxing world between 1940-1965. Sugar was one of boxing's smoothest operators for nearly a quarter of a century. "Rhythm is everything in boxing," he once said. "Every move you make starts with your heart, and that's in rhythm or you're in trouble.”
