In honor of larger than life baseball icon Babe Ruth, the original "Sultan of Swat," who changed the game as we know it in the roaring 1920s with the New York Yankees. Ruth changed the philosophy of baseball by introducing the long ball as the most exciting singular event in the sport. From 1920-1934, Ruth became a national treasure, revitalizing baseball and making the Yankees the premiere team in the Majors. In 1923, Yankee Stadium opened, and was aptly dubbed "The House that Ruth Built." We honor the great "Bambino" who, to this day, embodies the spirit of baseball.
